About Our Office

Your first contact with our office will most likely be over the phone. Our friendly reception staff, Marilyn and Anita will guide you through the experience and answer all the questions you may have. Most people enter our practice with a one appointment, consultation and treatment visit. When there is some uncertainty as to the endodontic problem or treatment needs, a separate consultation appointment may be advisable.

A consultation visit will consist of a review of:

  • your medical history
  • the history of your dental problem, including the signs and symptoms you are experiencing
  • clinical examination
  • radiographic (x-ray) examination

Following the examination Dr. Bittner will provide you with a diagnosis, treatment plan, and treatment prognosis.

We believe that it is critical for you to completely understand your dental health problem so that you can make an informed choice about your treatment needs. To help you, we will ensure that you receive all the information you require and answer all questions you may have.

Our commitment to you is that prior to starting treatment you will know and understand:

  • your dental problem
  • the treatment that Dr. Bittner recommends
  • the prognosis for that treatment
  • any probable treatment complications or concerns
  • other treatment options available to you
  • what you can expect during the post-treatment period
  • any further dental work which may be required following the endodontic treatment
  • all costs of your endodontic treatment and insurance reimbursement

To help with your visit, please provide the following information at the time of your consultation/treatment appointment:

  • the referral slip from you general dentist
  • any radiographs (x-rays) which are pertinent to your problem
  • a list of your current medications
  • your dental insurance information
  • any medical conditions which require pre-treatment medications or special treatment needs (i.e. leaking heart valves, anticoagulant therapy, back problems which may be exacerbated in a reclined position)

IMPORTANT: A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at the first visit.

Scheduling

Our office hours are Monday - Thursday, from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm. We are also open one Friday per month. Most treatment visits will require one appointment of less than 2 hours. We will schedule your appointment as promptly and conveniently as possible.

We understand and appreciate that your time is valuable and try our best to minimize your waiting. Occasionally emergency circumstances may unavoidably vary the time required for treatment. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Financial Information

Payment for endodontic services is collected at the completion of your appointment. For your convenience, we accept Mastercard, Visa, Debit or Cash.

Due to the large number of insurance plans that people hold and the one-visit nature of specialty endodontic treatment, we do not accept direct insurance reimbursement from your dental insurance company.

To help you with the complex and confusing nature of dental insurance policies, Marilyn and Anita, experts in insurance matters, will complete and mail all insurance forms on your behalf. Most insurance companies will reimburse you for your endodontic costs within 2 weeks of completion of treatment.

It is important to understand that specialty endodontic fees are somewhat higher than most dental insurance coverage limits. This means there is often a portion of your endodontic treatment not covered by your dental insurance. We will endeavor to maximize the reimbursement you receive for your endodontic treatment.
